SCHOOLS FOR COPENHAGEN TOUR
Midlothian’s MP David Hamilton has been successful in bringing the International Development Minister Douglas Alexander MP to visit with Midlothian schools recently. This is the first in Mr Alexander’s “Schools for Copenhagen Tour”, which was held at Lasswade High School, Bonnyrigg.
David Hamilton said “Douglas Alexander MP made a short address to approximately 90 students from Lasswade, Beeslack and Penicuik High Schools and took questions about poverty, environment and the Copenhagen Summit. It was a very worthwhile exercise where the students had interesting and worthwhile contributions”.
The Secretary of State Douglas Alexander and David Hamilton MP received a presentation from the three schools pledging to do their bit to help tackle climate change and asked the politicians to do their bit as well to help the environment and climate change.
